Topic: Database Reference Numbers
Each object in the database has an ID number which appears after
the name of an object, and is followed by any flags on the object.
For example, foo(#3672PM)
is a Player, Male, named foo, and has object number #3672.
This object number is the database reference number (sometimes
called a "dbref"), and is used to specify objects at a distance;
i.e. @link (exit)=#(room ID number). You will only see the ID number
of objects you own, or which are set LINK_OK, ABODE, or UNWANTED.
Wizards can see the numbers and flags on all objects.
